Azure-Native Deployment

Secure Access Controller for Azure is available as a virtual CloudGen Firewall image in the Azure Marketplace, deploying directly into your VNet to terminate Secure Connector VPN tunnels and route traffic between backend subnets. In Azure, the SAC can also secure east-west traffic between different backend subnets within your VNet, adding a protection layer between cloud workloads and deployments. Sizing options from ACC400 to ACC820 match capacity to protected IPs and concurrent Connector counts.

TINA VPN Aggregation

Barracuda’s proprietary TINA (Transport Independent Network Architecture) VPN protocol provides high-performance, reliable site-to-site and device-to-cloud connectivity that outperforms standard IPsec for distributed deployments. TINA supports multi-link bandwidth aggregation, transparent failover across WAN connections, and full roaming support for mobile endpoints. Every Secure Connector terminates its TINA tunnel on the SAC, with management traffic forwarded to the Control Center for policy.

The Secure Access Controller acts as a complete security inspection point for every VPN session, not just a dumb VPN concentrator. Corporate security policies including IPS, application control, URL filtering, virus scanning, and Advanced Threat Protection are enforced directly on the SAC or forwarded to a border firewall for centralized processing.
